Phrases

"I may have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night!"-you can't fool me
"You done goobed."-You screwed up.
"It just shows up."-some random happens.
"This speaks to me on a spiritual level:"-something rediculously relatable
"I will cut you off at the knees!"
My dad is a pretty weird dude. He's a teacher, so he's got a repertoire of goofy phrases. While being short in stature for his entire life he learned to become very defensive. Being one of his four children has also resulted in all of us being short. Our father always told us to never let someone pick on us. He always told us these silly phrases. It would always start with someone who is taller referring to my father as short or something. Then my father will say something like: "I will take you off at the knees. Then we'll see how high and mighty you are." This phrase influences my siblings and I to think of ourselves as equally as powerful as anyone else.

Brainstorm #5

Art and Why It's a Big Deal

Being a Graphic Design major, I believe that art can be very influential. I'd like to cover that fact that art can greatly influence a lot of people just by witnessing a piece for the first time. For example,  Milton Glaser, the designer who made "I <3 NY" [above] made this design to support New Yorks tourism campaign.
... I believe we know how that went. XD
I'm not extremely positive on this topic, but I think it'd be interesting.

Brainstorm #4

Video Games = Art Form?

Yes, this project idea is on video games, but I wanted to step into a deeper subject. "Can video games be considered an art form?"
[in-game perspective of Dark Souls]

[...and when talking about beautiful games, you got to put Skyrim]

These are just simple examples that video games aren't just about violence and illegal activities. I definitely believe that it has been accepted as an art form for as long as video games have been made!
I would like to try this subject because I have a deep interest in games, and I think it would be fun to cover.

Brainstorm #3

Interview with a Cosplayer
Cosplay-the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, etc.

I have a neighbor who does cosplay; which is actually a pretty fun subject. He created and is wearing the Bounty Hunter suit in the picture above to the right of Pirate Deadpool.
I think this would be an interesting subject to cover, and I think he'd be willing to interview for us.

Brainstorm #2

Interview with a LARPer

Larping-A live action role-playing game is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically act out their characters' actions. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by the real world, while interacting with each other in character.

One of my roommates is an active Live Action Role Player, and I think it'd be fun to do a documentory piece on suck a fun/strange subject.

Brainstorm #1

Fly on the WAll
Before I get into the project ideas, I would just like to say that I have no clue how to edit videos or shoot one in a professional matter. But, these projects are what I could possibly do.

This first idea is pretty simple. While looking at the syllabus and finding the music video project, I thought of this idea of shooting it as if in the perspective of a fly on the wall...
(btw these were all shot on my camera phone, so they aren't the best quality)

I've always like videos with a personality. What better way to spice up a visual experience then with a change of perspective.

About me...

I'm a fan of all different kinds of movies and music, if I were to choose a director: Guillermo del Toro. My favorite shows: Doctor Who, Hannibal, Game of Thrones,  FaceOff, (...and the list goes on). With a Graphic Design degree, I'd like to go on to freelance, maybe. Whatever happens I'd just love to be doing something with my art. I'm interested in making media because I'd love to gain some experience.
